Corinne Bayerl

Corinne Bayerl received her Ph.D. in French Literature from the University of Chicago in 2014. She is Career Instructor in the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of Oregon. Corinne’s research focuses on early modern religious dissidents in Europe, in particular on French Jansenists and German Pietists. She has published on Montaigne, Pascal, and Pierre Bayle. She is currently working on two projects: a comparative study of religious opposition to the theatre in Early Modern Europe, and a study on the role of paratexts in Jansenist translations.

Corinne joined the Executive Board of CAHSA in November 2018. She facilitates the CAHSA writing group.
